Why is Australia's financial crimes watchdog investigating the Perth Mint?

Yes,the Mickleberg Bros. accusations way back were never fully investigated,Police,Govt. and the Perth Mint itself closed ranks and put them in the too hard basket.
Basically they said there was corruptions at the highest levels and named names although much was retracted  after Police 'persuasion' from officers later proved to be corrupt as well.
Must be huge temptations with Gold Bullion,from exotic scams to scrapings from gold bars and dust in the bottom of bags.
