Discover Australia gold coins

Hi,

After a lot of web searching I am hoping I have found a forum where I can get some advice. Not too far back I decided to buy a few gold coins close to spot, I initially thought of Sovereigns since I am from the UK, but after some research, I decided to buy a few of the Kangaroo bullion coins. I liked the idea of changing pictures, and actually really liked the 2012 design.
I wasn't initially planning to get any collector coins because of the high premium over spot, but after registering with The Perth Mint and looking round the site, I really liked the Green & Gold Bell Frog coin. Therefore I have spent some time considering whether to get one.

I know purely based on the spot price of gold it's not a great deal, but I would be really interested to here from anybody who has one of these Discover Australia coins, in particular the frog. Does the quality of the coin and the enjoyment you get from looking at it justify the price? My biggest concern is the aforementioned premium over spot, and also the mintage rules The Perth Mint use, as although the mintage looks low, it's a slight concern to see other similar designs still available from a few years back on the site, all be it with much higher original runs. I would have perhaps thought that some of these mintages would be closed off sooner?

Anyway, I hope this is posted in the right place and makes sense.
