Great stuff Auto! :good: It's nice when history presents itself with interesting stuff on a personal level.

Anzac I reckon :tease:

No way!

RAM released a number of products today.

Note: Today (Friday 1st June) is the LAST day you can buy the $10 swap bags of the $2 coloured coins. You can also only get them via the phone. The website has them as "Temporarily Unavailable".

Speaking of things only available over the phone.

There has been a 30th anniversary of the $2 coin, 3-coin proof set released. Mintage set at 1,988. This has also gone "Temporarily Unavailable", so you need to phone through the RAM's customer service number to order it. It is capped to 1 set per order.
They phone operators have said they are VERY popular.

Get in quick kids.

Nope. I thought so too, until I went there today.

First paragraph:

**Due to a change in policy, the Royal Australian Mint can no longer offer Circulating Coin Sachets for purchase through our online store or contact centre, effective from July 1, 2018. This change of policy has been made to ensure the Mint's continued compliance with Australia's Taxation regulations.
The 2018 $2 Coloured Circulating Lest We Forget - Eternal Flame Coin Sachets will no longer be available from 1 June 2018.

I think that's a mistake. Where is the economic sense in withdrawing the $2 coins a month before the deadline?

JeffH

They have been "temporarily unavailabe" online most of recent weeks but no problem if you call them.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

I was speaking to the customer service people multiple times today.

They said exactly what the website said.

They allowed phone orders today, as it was a late decision.

It's annoying. In this day and age, to be needing to phone a company to make an order, rather than use a website.

The three coin set is now listed as "Sold Out" now! :O

There is also a 12 coin set

https://eshop.ramint.gov.au/30th-Anniversary-of-the-2-Coin/10094.aspx

2018 $2 Twelve Coin Coloured Uncirculated Set

On the 30th anniversary of Australia's two dollar coin, this 12 coin set is a nostalgic recollection of twelve of the designs the coin has portrayed over the past three decades.

As a true celebration of this coin's place in Australian history, it features three of the standard coin design acknowledging our nation's indigenous population (each with its own unique obverse design). It also acknowledges our nation's shared stories, with Lest We Forget and Remembrance Day coins from recent years, and the 2013 coin celebrating Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II's 60th anniversary on the throne.

Each coin is a tribute to the Royal Australian Mint's creativity and manufacturing excellence, with eight featuring our colour-printing technology.

The 12 coin $2 set might possibly include a unique coin. The 1988 version originally had the Reverse designers initials "HH" on it. I wonder if this re-issue has the initials or not? The initials were deleted from later releases.

Regards Mike
Australian Decimal, UK Decimal, USA & Euro Coins are what I collect.

Noelos237

The initials would be a nice touch but I would be surprised if they were actually included.

Should the woolies $2 coins have been included in the history set?
(2016 Olympics, possum magic and 2018 commonwealth games).

I think so, they are part of the 30 year history of the $2.00
