First mention of 2010 20¢ "bubble"

Jeff and Hercules, thanks for the research, bubble now makes sense in the original context.
I can see the article heading now, fred lever blows bubbles......no, bubbles in aussie coins...nah..................hang on one of the pics shows a horseshoe shaped one......bubbles and horseshoes in aussie coins..............that wont make it.....................i'll think about it.

Goatieman23: Not sure on it's name, but "the Bubble" sounds good. It is what I believe is a die variety. Think of the 2004 Pointy A variety, McDonalds called it a big head rather than a point A, but pointy A is the name that has stuck over the big head.

Larena: haha Goatieman23.....I did think very carefully about what to call it...the first one I sold I just called it a 'circle cud'...but then I thought 'that just doesn't do it justice' , so I put my creative mind to work and decided in the context of the 'whole design' , it should be called a 'bubble'...so the '2010 bubble' was born. Will be very interesting to see how many are out there, so hop to it everyone....the chase is on !

Note: Just changed Irena to Larena, which is the name used on CCF. Apologies for the confusion.

All the noodlers out there will be pleased and "variety" is the spice of life. It might even attract some more devotees to the noodling clan.

1/ can I write that I believe Irena gets the gong for using the term first in the context of  selling a 2010 20c with a 'bubble' showing in the water (as far as we know) ?
2/ is it ok  if I use any pictures from the various posts in this thread? Save me searching through 1 million coins searching for bubbles.

Oh and yes I wasn't the first to find the 2010 20 cent bubble but I have found most of the others, Jen has found a couple as well and Pedro might have too..hard to keep track of these things But Nevol is our error queen :yahoo:

2. Quite happy for you to use any of my photos. If you need other photo angles just let me know and I'll see what I can do (that does assume I can actually find the coin :laugh2: ).

Well I have only ever found two "Bubbles"; 2010 20¢ as per the original and 2014 50¢ behind emu's neck as per AJ's original post.

Correct. The lowercase L at the front looks like an uppercase I, which is why I got confused.

Hi to all. I have only just taken an interest in coins and started noodling.  I have had a few interesting finds so far. Im only doing small change but Ive already come across 2 1966 10 cent coins that are rotated die upsets. Regards Nick
