I think a siege might be appropriate.
Close the border and don't allow any crossing either way. And no Hutt River "citizens" allowed to have any dealings with Australia -that includes banks, stores, pubs and so in; one exception to be paying back tax to ATO (Australian currency only because the sly fox might try to pay with his fake currency.)
Starve the bastard out.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

So a forced siege from the outside. No hostages so no reason not to just wait it out. Good idea Jeff. We'll never see the money.

Make it against the law for any one to buy his wheat. He will soon run out of money.

Australia won't be "declaring war", for two reasons.

- War requires the de-facto recognition of the other country's existence, which Australia has not done.

- As a member of the United Nations, Australia has voluntarily renounced the right to declare war, on anybody. Instead, Australia is to bring international disputes to the United Nations for resolution. And involvement of the United Nations is the last thing Australia wants to have happen in the HRP.

Hutt River Province is not a member of the UN, so is free to declare war on whomever they wish. They've unilaterally declared war on us before, in 1977, as part of a legal gambit. They declared war, then declared a cessation of hostilities a few days later (since the Australian army never bothered to show up), then claimed that since their nation was "undefeated in war", they ought to be given recognition of sovereignty.

However, Prince Leonard has been forced to pay his tax bill twice before; I don't see why this time would be any different.

Don't worry PP if he doesn't pay the ATO will simply sieze his "country" and auction it off.
Most of that Northampton Mob are a bit odd and Old Mate Leonard is a prime example.
