Hi Folks, I'm a newbie to the forum as just joined and I had this 100 Banknote and its the only one I have with this number combination.  I'm not really into values save to say, I just got told my 29 x 100 polymer banknotes was of no value. I  just wanted a general idea from the members if I have a collection more than face value?  Half are UNC as in the new ones handed over to me over the counter by bank teller or circulated but really good condition in that saying that on closer look you can see they have been folded (you have to look for the folds) in their past but have been in sleeves from the 96-00 era. I've read a few posts and can see the values and ebay selling minus fees etc means I cannot expect a lot if at all and then I see a couple I have look like they have sold on ebay in the sold section for 150+ (only a couple though).

Below are my serials in my collection and I'd appreciate any advice whether I just bank them and be done with it, or bank the majority and keep a few.

What do you think?

:welcome: Mousie. Notes have dropped off a fair bit in recent years and they have to be in pretty good nick to get any decent money or be very rare so if I was to keep any from your list unseen I'd keep the AA's (first prefix) and the DK99009009 and the DK run for now and if things get bad you can always take them back tot he bank.

Thanks Ausjack for this and I mostly collected pre decimal over the years and then placed in storage for over 20 years and only now pulling out for a peek and with the benefit of the net I can search around a bit. Like all thinks it's a time and place thing.

Mousie

Okay, then and Hopefully members will not get bored with some of my others will post up later.

ausjack

So is that pre decimal notes or coins or both? Post away mate :)

Hi Mousie and welcome to the forum.

From your list above, I would say the 'test notes' would be worth at least 115 to 120% face value. These are all the notes with the second letter N to Z. Plus the AA's would be worth holding onto.

ausjack

Ah so that's the go with test notes, thanks Jimmy, ya learn something new every day :good:

I seen the thing in Greg's book and was going to ask him about it as it doesn't explain much as it just has test notes written in red writing. and has fine at $95 so I also found that a bit odd.

Oh and the test notes are only on the 1996 notes

Thanks Jimmy1979, well that means perhaps banking just not on the cards yet.  Yep collected pounds various and coins over many years and this is first online so will post up and see when I can scan up the image to show the grading.  Mind you the pounds are in used condition of course and happy to share on the forum.

Hi Folks, do I have to use URL code (from the help section to put up an image of a banknote)? or upload it first, ta

Edit: oops read the rules and decided to create a 'cube upload' free account as just registered for an account to host my pre-decimal and I think this link works to the images as first time doing this as well. Next challenge will be to work out how to grade them, its not much to look at quality wise, but then again I collected a long time ago. Obviously my scanner needs to move the notes around a tad to capture the whole top edge.  And my V20 ten pound looks decidedly whiter than the V4 so this must mean it was washed when I got it from a read online about this.

I usually use tinypic to upload pic's because I'm useless but you could have a look at the 'testing and how-to' thread https://www.australian-coins.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=18

Just had a look at your notes and they look ok to me but then I'm not into notes. I know it's hard to grade anything from a pic so I'll leave the grading to those in the know sorry.

Just call me AJ mate, it's what everyone calls me and it's easier to type :winkextra:
