Hope I didn't pay too much as I'm sure it's had a wipe on the obverse. Still plenty of luster on the reverse and a little on the obverse and almost no wear. Just those tell tale scratches in the fields (more than show in the photos). Any values and opinions welcome.
Thanks P.G.

Nice coin PG, I'm with Stevo and about AU58 but you might be lucky and get light MS on a good day.

Thanks everyone, I'd be very happy with a result in the mid 50,s or better with what I paid but I'm still worried about the scratches. I will try and take some pictures that show them.
Thanks P G

From your images the coin looks to be in the Good EF to AU range, EF45-AU50 But it also looks to have had a bit of a rub on the obverse and has been dipped at some stage.
The grade will depend on the extent of the hairline scratches on the obverse and the amount of remaining original lustre on the coin.

All in all a very nice coin :good:
May I may be so rude and ask what you paid for this example ?

A nice coin, but as you say, probably something going on with the obverse. That said, I would be happy to call it EF to gEF, somewhere between AU50 and 55.
As we age we lose three things, one is our memory and arrrrr I've forgotten the other two!

This one shows more of the scratches, mostly in front of the King.

I cant see any wear.
Appears to have some light hairlines obverse.

This came in a lot of 80 odd coins that I bought last week for $800. I ask everyone I meet if they have coins and if so are they for sale. While buying some old garden tools on Gumtree, I got lucky (or unlucky if I paid to much the coin dealer offered her $300 for the lot, about the silver value). They are mostly KGV and mostly poor quality(verdi/pvc/cleaned) but half a dozen or so are good dates in about this condition, so I figure this one owes me about $150 to $200 depending on the value of the others.
 Sorry long story

I'd like to claim good guy status  but if I could of paid less I would:diablo:. I think she new that I really wanted them and held out.  I didn't have the 21* and some of the teen and 20's shillings. Maybe the goo will come off some of the others and I'll be in front.

If this coin comes back with a clean grade of minimum AU50 the rest of the coins only owe you a couple of hundred :ok:
