So, I've got a few silver Krugerrands ordered through ModernCoinMart when they get released later this month. With mintage limited to just 1,000,000 (lol, yes, that's right), I'm not expecting these to grow in value. These are just for my pleasure/curiosity.

I would like a proof version, which I haven't seen for sale through MCM, nor mentioned anywhere.

On the South African Mint website there is a proof listing, with a price that works out to about AUD$80

Quote2017 | KRUGERRAND 50th ANNIVERSARY SINGLE COINS - SILVER
 R 775 - 2017 Krugerrand 1oz Fine - Silver Proof
 R 600 - 2017 Krugerrand 1oz Fine - Silver Premium Uncirculated

I have written to them, but there has been no reply. The order form is not an online form/payment gateway. It seems rather antiquated, and doesn't inspire confidence.

But on eBay, there is a chap selling a proof version, which is over AUD$500 delivered.
Claims that the proof is limited to a mintage of 15,000 .

Seems a bit suspicious, with a low seller rating, and the coin itself looks uncirculated ... not proof.
All signs say to move past that eBay seller.

Does anyone have any experience buying from the South African mint? Or is there any Australian reseller etc where one could buy from? (Without a massive markup).
There\'s no such thing as too much Borobi!
