Today I came across a silver 2012 P, 2.2 Kg "Year of the Dragon" Australian silver $30 'coin'. What would one of theses be worth in U S or Aussie dollars ? (I can convert U S/AD) I held the thing....it's heavy......70.74 troy ounces.

Unusual size Cy.
Are you sure it's not 2.2 pounds, which would be a kilogram?

Whatever the bullion buy price is at any given moment. its just dropped from $760 to $722 for example. May as well ask "how long's a bit of string?"

Numismatically, these things are rubbish. Like most of us, I bought some way back when I was starting out, and I've regretted it ever since.

So if you don't already own it, don't even think about it unless you can get a discount off spot price. Or unless there is some particular appeal to you, as an object of art.

Thanks to everyone for the info. And Steve, you're right on the weight......I goofed. Using my 2.2 figure, I wondered why this item was so cheap.....it wasn't at $1200 U S dollars. No, I won't purchase it......I'll stick with 1 oz silver rounds.
