Just picked up this crazy error in low grade but I think it's still a beauty

It\'s not about who you know it\'s about what you know

That coin would make a great scoop for dispensing spices when cooking!
I really like it but question how it will get into a 2x2 or slab?
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

Amazing it saw so much circulation. If it was the only coin threepence on your person, probably a good thing it didn't cost threepence to access the public dunnies at Central Station back in the day. No way that was going to fit in the slot
As we age we lose three things, one is our memory and arrrrr I've forgotten the other two!

Triggersmob

I was wondering how such a coin could circulate long enough to get that much wear.
Maybe it was someones pocket piece for many years.

May be this one?

Was browsing the PCGS museum of coin holders and notice this:

http://www.pcgs.com/holders/TheRegency

Anyone seen one of these in the flesh? Half of them are housing an Israeli collection. It's supposed to be very big. Not sure about the thickness.

Looks like they have "jumbo" holders that can hold coins as thick as 6 mm

I don't think that PCGS will have a problem fitting this coin into a slab.
It may look like a huge lip on the coin but in reality it is probably not much deeper than a proof Silver dollar or even a piedfort coin and PCGS has no trouble with those. :ok:

Just send it to the Trout Mint to have the offending bit chiselled off. :diablo:
