I think this coin will be a pretty good money maker for the mint but hopefully I might get one for face value one day, but then how do I pay for it, maybe I could exchange one of my old two cents for a new one :)

It's no longer in circulation, how do you get one at face?

AJ lives that far off the beaten track they still use the 1c and 2c coins at the local general store :laugh2:

:laugh2: Yeah that's about right trout  Well what I was thinking was that I could take some of my old 1 & 2's back to the bank (where I got most from anyway) and exchange them for one of these new one's as people get rid of dad and pop's collection as I think that's what happens when I get them ATM. I go in and ask get any paper notes or old coins and sometimes they say yes we have 3 or 4 dollars in copper so I say hand it over and they're happy to get rid of them as it saves them paperwork sending them back.

I am wondering if this coin is the "Bait" and that the other designs that didn't make the "Cut" are going to be on offer by RAM at a later stage with an overpriced Silver 50c being the Crown in the collection

I think there's a very high chance of that mate. How many designs are there that didn't make it.

I don't know but I imagine that there are quite a few of them.

i did ask on Facebook if they plan to release all the other alternative designs, perhaps as a set. they said no at this stage. but who knows

If the RAM said "Not at this stage"  you can translate that to mean "We definitely will some time in the future". That is guaranteed.

Hey isn't there was a PDF document with all the upcoming designs in 2017? They have to include that in there right?

I was quite excited about the 2c when I first saw it. But now after a month I have cool on it. They waited too long. You want to get them when they are hot and horny for it.

What is it with everyone ordering in 3s? I ordered 3 for myself and 3 for someone else, and then I come on here and find out that everyone else has ordered 3. There must be something about us humans that makes us love the number 3! :laugh2:

Anyway, has anyone else noticed that they listed the wrong metal for these coins on the RAM website? It says they're made out of aluminium bronze, but isn't that what they make the $1 and $2 coins out of? Weren't the 1c and 2c coins made out of copper instead?

I'd also like to thank Trout for his suggestion that I add some of the Changeover baggies onto every order I make. You can rest assured that there'll now be fewer left for everyone else. :D

Now, I just have to hope that Trout is wrong about these concept designs becoming a new form of granny bait. :s

Has anyone actually received their 2c coin yet?
I ordered and paid for mine on the 3rd and still no notification of shipping as of yet.

Mine is waiting collection at Post Office.

I received the notification yesterday, and it says it's now in Sydney. Apparently, it will take another couple of days for the kangaroos to hop all the way up to Brisbane. :laugh2:
