Hope this thread is in the right place.

Can't find on the Mint web site any advertising for the wedding sets.

Do they advertise them on release - how do you know that are released

I'm after this years set but no luck so far

I am not sure if they are still making these.
I don't collect the Proof strike Wedding sets so I really don't know what is the "Go" with these.

If you are referring to the 2002 - 2009 sets (or just about anything else) then the back issues of the RAM magagazine Mint Issue might be the go. These used to be available on the RAM website.

I don't know for sure but 2014 may have been the last of the wedding sets.

I agree there is no sign of them anywhere, not in the Mint reports after 2014 sets in 2014-15 report. The RAM should have said something though.

So I just went for a look-see over on the SYC forum and it's definitely been taken off the production list and they are asking collectors if it should be brought back.

Thanks for the response gang.

Looks like 2014 is the cut-off date.

Just to add have sent the mint a message asking what the go is.   I presume they will reply and I will advise

Let's just hope that IF they do decide to reinstate the Wedding Sets That RAM produces these in the original format with the "Specimen" coins instead of the Proofs that were in the sets from 2010-2014 .
Also if they do decide to produce the Specimen coins again that they describe them correctly this time instead of giving them a BS description of "Gem Uncirculated" Which is in fact a "Grade" and NOT a type of strike or finish :good:

OK.   Just got a phone call from the Mint

2014 was definitely the last year for the wedding sets

Was told that for 2015 and 2016 they produced the Love heart coin instead.   She said they seemed to think that that was more appropriate

Hope that clears that up

I think that it would be more of a case of collectors not buying the Wedding sets after the initial disappointment of the 2010 set produced in proofs that were available in the annual proof and proof baby sets as well that year.
There may have been a few sales that were purely used for weddings but my guess is that the overwhelming majority of the Wedding Sets were bought by astute collectors that wanted the super high quality coins for that year that the Wedding sets provided, That all came to an abrupt halt in 2010 when RAM in their Wisdom decided not to produce the Specimen coins anymore :(

I am thinking that RAM is knee deep in unsold proof Wedding Sets.
