Hey Folks,

Last night I was speaking to my brother and he said he was flying a drone to capture some scenic mountains... then he went on and started raving about this new toy he bought a week a go... so I wonder is it worth getting one since we have some travel plans ...

Do any of you have experience with Drone flying ? Any regulations that I need to be aware ? Also any recommendations ? If I was to get one, I will be using it for arial videos and photography...

Cheers...

I saw one of these being used a few weeks back and they are nothing short of AWSOME.
I don't know how easy they are to fly but they have great range and the[/u] images look great :good:

I agree, I dont want drones to come and hit me from nowhere nor hit someone if I am flying one... the ones I am looking has collision avoidance system ( I hope it works )..

Or when I am lazy to check gutters for blockages..:yahoo: no need for a ladder, just fly a drone...

Yes, they are... good ones are $1250 + they go up to $12000 +

I need a decent one to take some photos and videos... so it needs to be decent enough, hence trying to find bit more and think twice before commitment.

I think it is common courtesy not to fly drones in residential areas except just to check something in your own house... I agree, there are too many creeps around...

I could fly one of these around my house and I would run out of range well before I reached the nearest neighbour :)

Hahaha... I had that privilege when I visited my grandparents.. now if I spread my arms wide enough, I can reach my neighbors fence...

So your neighbors are over 5 km away ?

Check with your local aviation authority, but here in Perth, you are not allowed to fly them within 5km of an airport. I guess they would have a restriction on the height too.

That is very cool...  I love open land, but that's the only thing I don't get/see.
