I a Nutshell Mate, I can't see RAM missing out on making collectors have to buy both the standard sets and the baby sets as usual

True. And neither will be rare with unlimited mintage.

I have just ordered my proof and mint sets along with a bag each of the $1 and $2 changeover coins :good:

I was thinking of buying some more changeover coins, but then I decided to wait until this year's coloured $2 Remembrance Day coin is released. Otherwise, I'll have to pay for twice as much postage as I need to. :winkextra:

I just tacked the baggies onto my order so I only had to pay face for them :)
They will replace the ones I opened earlier.

The baggies might not be there by the time they released the remembrance day $2 coin.

Their is no coloured Remembrance coin this year.
The RAM has backed out in doing any more coloured $2 coins this year.

"At 19 years in circulation Ian Rank-Broadley's design is one of the longest running effigies seen on our coins, and the Royal Australian Mint proudly invites you to obtain six fine examples of this stunning portrait."

I don't think that these coins have a new portrait.

I know what they are saying but they could have picked a better word...
•"Effigy" Oxford dictionary
•"Effigy" Merriam-Webster dictionary
A strong negative feeling to that word. Makes me think of Guy Fawkes, bonfires and such.
How about "portrait". "image", "likeness", "bust".....the list of 'friendly' words is quite long.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

How do you know they backed out of it? Is there a news article or something? I really want to see the one listed on the second currency determination for this year, which had green, yellow and indigo on it.

I for one have a case of coloured $2 overload So am quite happy that this one has been given a Miss :good:

It is interesting to note that there is NO obverse image on the sets listing , The listing does state that the IRB design is used for these coins though.
Will the 2017 circulating coins still have the IRB obverse design or is there to be a new design on these ??

I know the images aren't much to go by ... but, both finishes are double bar 50c.

Hercules

Does anyone else think it's weird how 20 months after a new effigy is unveiled in Britain, we spend all our time celebrating the old effigy instead of embracing the new one? Talk about being stuck in the past!

Don't get your hopes up Mate.
RAM tend to use that double bar image quite freely but the coins that are listed don't have the double bar when you get them.
Funnily enough the 50.50 proof coin which Does have a double bar didn't have the double bar image in the promotion :dash1:

I hoped to do that too .. but only the $2 baggies are able to be ordered .. The $1 baggies are temporarily unavailable again... AGGHHH! :ireful:

So I have left the stuff in the cart and will see if they come back later.

At least the normal definitive coins are all available in the standard mint set for 2017. I won't have to buy the Baby Mint set like I had to in 2016 to get them all. That's a win! :)

Australian Decimal, UK Decimal, USA & Euro Coins are what I collect.

I must have snaffled the last bag
