Woow. Nice one.

How come you have a badge with "goldseeker" for the show?

A third one showed up on the floor. One of the guys saw what it was, threw it on the table, then announced that there was a 1972 to be found. And the crowd went wild! :)

Is there an age limit to the 5c noodling table?

All I need the coin that the above was punched out of but starting at around $160K to over $600K, a wee bit over my budget.

Well done GS, maybe you should get it graded as it shows a bit of detail compared to some of the others :good:

You could always tell Mrs GS that the world cruise is put off for a wee bit so you can get the holy dollar  but then again she missed out last year so she mightn't be too happy about that :winkextra:

But on a serious note mate and to all the other collectors as well, have you told your family about some of the stuff you have and how valuable it is and NOT to just give it away or sell cheap as it seems to be a problem when something happens to the collector and the family just think it's not worth much. I have told mum that the stuff in slabs etc are worth a little so don't give them away but a lot of the stuff I have in bags like rabbit ears and different errors etc can be sold cheap or put back into the pond as she probably wouldn't need the stress of getting rid of them and when my nieces and nephew are old enough I will be telling them but for now they just get told to "STAY AWAY" from uncle Jack's coins :blush2:

In the link I put up I see a holy dollar for $125,000 and they'd probably come down if you sweet talked them :)

There was, yeah. But as I was leaving about half an hour before stumps, I noticed it had been raised to about 70!

Maybe they figured a table of oldies was better than an empty table. :)

Meh. I think they really didn't want to have to count and bag up the remains of $300 worth of rolls. I know Belinda didn't for sure. :)

You are obviously not a married man AJ!

Well, well... after telling everyone at the show that I've never found a 1972 5¢, I just opened a bunch of rolls I've had lying about.. and out pops a '72! :)

That sounds like like it could be one of the corollaries to Murphy's Law.

Imagine what you might find if you open some of the 1966 20 cent rolls you've had put away from when they were released :mocking: sorry I can't help it

I want a pic or it didn't happen :winkextra:

I saw Andrew Crellin in Canberra earlier this year and he was soooooo excited about the 5 cent promotion at the shows for the kiddies

he was almost jumping out of his jeans with the sheer delight of it all
it was great to see someone so genuinely happy with a collecting activity

it's like that when the bus loads of kids turn up at the Mint here  too
