Mister T

I got the following set for Christmas from someone who was in Vietnam recently. Cost was between $5 and $10.

There's at least five wrong coins that I can see: a (most likely fake) US trade dollar in place of the 1885-1928 1 piastre, a token of some sort that says AMUSEMENT ONLY in the place of the 1928-1939 5 cent, a US penny in the place of the 1908-1939 1 cent, another token that says ONLY FOR AMUSEMENT in the place of the 2000 Dong and yet another token in the place of the 1000 Dong.
Going through my 1983 Krause, a few things that are there look like they should be pretty pricey so they could well be fake too.

Very nice, but a bit dodgy.
Maybe sealed under PVC plastic too.
I would certainly rip it apart, and place the coins in 2x2's
and ditch the fakes.
Nice of your friend to bring it back for you.

I was kind of tempted to but I get the impressions there's more fake than real. Even some of the current stuff isn't real and I was told that the current coins are worth so little that most transactions are done with notes only.

They felt a bit silly when I told them that there fakes but I think it makes it all the more interesting.

If the US trade dollar fake is a good one it might be of interest to a counterfeit collector. I found a bad fake morgan earlier in the week, listed it on CCF as an auction and have a bid at $5.

Mister T

Well I don't have any fakes so I thought it would be a good thing to hang onto.
I'm not sure what I'm meant to look for the only thing that seemed suspicious (aside from the fact a real one would be very costly) was the uneven inside rim.
