In a $500 bag of $1 coins this evening a Euro 50 cent and a New Zealand $1.
I put the grade of the kiwi as 'roadkill'.
If it is good enough for the bank to give something like that out then, I think, it is good enough for me to return it to them.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

Just got one of these in $100 of 50¢ from, you guessed it... NAB.

Seeing as how its not one of the rare years, and that its worth 5 cents, I reckon its going in one of these sealed Armaguard bags I'm about to make. ;)

Gah! Second bag had one of these in it:

This one's a keeper though, since its actually worth more than 50¢. ;)

I bet your heart picked up a beat when you spotted the round coin amongst the other 50c coins :)

Nah, I've got both in my hand right now, and the CuNi coin looks nothing like the silver one.

Heh, just found another of those NZ 67's.

Starting to think this batch came from another collector...

Last bag had a '74, two '72's, a '97, a broken reed '96 and a pair of Anniversary '16's. No way that's coincidence.

Why is it worth more than 50 cents? I thought AUD was higher than NZD

I found a round 50c today, but it was dated 2001. It looks like someone had a lot of fun getting rid of the corners! :laugh2:

You should take an image of it and add it to the Round 50c thread :good:

Barely. We're very nearly at parity now. But maybe I should have added "to me" on the end of that sentence. ;)

I can't for the life of me figure out how to insert images into threads. The system's much too complicated for me.

Dead simple, actually.

First, find an image:

Then, put img and /img tags around it, with square brackets. Same as HTML, only it uses <> rather than []. Like so (without the spaces of course):

[ img ] ... [ /img ]

Voila! You've inserted your thread!

But how do you upload an image from your hard drive?

Fulvio

Oh yeah... there's a separate issue to resolve if you want to share an image you've taken.

First you need to park it somewhere on the internet. There are many many choices for doing this, but you want one that allows hotlinking (which is why my pics are generally on jovianprojects or imgur rather than altervista where my PDFs live).

Imgur is great.
The Gallery here is not bad.
Your own web space may be OK, depending where it is.
Other image services range from OK to woeful.

You could even serve them directly from your own machine, if its always online and you set it up right. ;)

That's why I like Imgur. Most places you need to use an FTP program. Imgur lets you drag and drop, and offers loads of features for managing images.
