All collectors should be picky. We have a right to good-looking coins.

I knew that this was only a matter of time before it happened :dash1:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2016-BOX-50x-10-Cent-Changeover-rolls-100-boxes-issued-only-10-roll-PREORDER-/112135939506?hash=item1a1bd2a5b2:g:tJ8AAOSwNRdX2M7U

It is No wonder that all the changeover baggies are temporarily unavailable and that we are all still waiting for ours to be delivered when one reseller orders 5,000 at a time.
I imagine that 5,000 of every lot of the baggies would have been ordered from ram in batches at $50 a pop and that the other denominations will be home rolled as well.
As Cotton and Co is an authorised RAM reseller I am not sure if he can be considered a "Drop Order" seller as these are a Pre Order item he is making But I would think that RAM would be taking a pretty dim view with what he is doing here.

It's not a secret forum RG But I don't know how you can gain access to it :dash1:
Next time you are at the Mint ask someone about it and see if they can do something.
I will try and post a thread on SYC to see how new members can sign up :ok:

I have posted the new thread and it is "awaiting Approval" , I will let you know how it goes RG :ok:

Fortymillion007 and our "Beloved" Wendy Roberts are one and the same and yes she is/was a SYC Member.
I am not sure of her status on SYC at the moment But I would be horrified to learn that she is still a member there.

I doubt that any of us have had the notification yet and it probably has a lot to do with this latest Cotton "Project" :dodgy:

Maybe RAM should "Reconsider" Mr Cotton's status as an authorised RAM Dealer/reseller over this :ok:

Nup. All the other bags came within a week or two of being ordered, but this one's well into the third week, and there's still no sign of it. I was thinking of going back to get another one because they only come in bags of 5, compared with 40 for the 5c and 10c, but I think I might just have to be grateful for what I've got. The mint should have hard limits on the number of coins each person can buy, like Woollies did when they were distributing the coloured Olympic coins, so people can't corner the market. Otherwise, it's not fair on people with low incomes, and it turns them off coin collecting altogether. :winkextra:

Good luck trying to get any of the $2 coins as they have been "Unavailable" for some time now and traditionally this usually equates to no more available :ok:
RAM may produce some more of these "baggies" for the changeover coins But with all the abuse that has happened this year with circulating coins I much doubt that RAM will indulge us with any more of the Baggies in future.
This will be a real shame because it wasn't long ago that these small sample type bags were not available and were a very welcome innovation for collectors.
I for one hope that RAM will continue to provide us the opportunity to acquire the new circulating coinage this way in the future but I think that they will have to impose "Meaningful" and accountable limitations in future to ensure that there is NO repeat of what has occurred this year.

I've already bought one bag, but I wish I'd bought more, in case I decide to turn them into sets. What's the point of having 40 5c and 10c pieces when you can only make complete sets from 5 of them? Doesn't that make the other 35 pieces redundant?

I think it was always going to end this way. When I was a kid, I was content to have just one of each circulating coin, but nowadays, everyone wants 50 or 100 of them. The mint is largely to blame for this because they abandoned a long-held tradition of always minting commemorative coins in very large numbers to stop them from being hoarded. Now, they've reignited the exact same attitude that caused the silver 50c to be withdrawn, and they're paying the price for it. If they want to stop this kind of abuse, they need to regain the public's trust by making every commemorative coin a high-mintage release, so no one will want to hoard them. Otherwise, people are going to keep treating these coins like the 2000 mule. :)

I think its just a phase associated with Ebay,FB,GT etc, while ever there are Wood Ducks willing to pay multiples over face because its Unc. or in a plastic holder there will be the unscrupulouse trying to make easy $.
Coin buying/selling has become a Cottage Industry out on Internet at the moment but surely market forces and reality will hit eventually.

I didn't mention any dealer, i mentioned an fleabay user/seller. If someone sells coins at massive markups on fleabay, does that make them, or are they a legitimate dealer?

I would have thought this forum would be in favour of letting other coin collectors know about the unscrupulous behavior of certain ebay sellers in order that they might avoid them.

And yes trout she is still on SYC. I believe she got banned at the same time as me when i exposed her practices on there. But they let her back on. Gee i enjoyed that stoush lol.

I am pretty certain that Most of the members here are aware of to whom you are referring and are NOT a fan But we have to refrain from mentioning names or eBay identities here because there could be legal ramifications for this forum and that will affect the Forum and Markn Personally.
If anyone needs the information regarding these sort of people then there is always the Messaging system on this site or email options that can be used  instead of posting publicly :ok:
I know it is frustrating not being able to "Vent" and personally identify the vermin that are on the increase within this hobby But if the Site suffers because we cannot restrain ourselves then they WIN and everyone here will loose.

It's not up to you to tell me who you can or cannot slag off on this forum, I have warned others about this practise and the same rules apply to you, abide by them or find some other forum to post on.
