Finally finished, and had it's first run on the clubs layout today, and ran like clockwork.....well not really, it's electric

Was my first attempt at weathering which I was happy with, and it was good to see and hear that after rewiring, and fitting small pin connectors between loco and tender, all sound effects and headlight operated as they should.

A great result Auto!!! :good:

I hope you didn't have to paint each piece of coal individually!

That looks amazing  !

Nice job on that steamie Auto

Weathering is in the eye of the beholder and the more you do it the better you get :swoon:

Thanks for the kind words everyone, and no uni, I didn't paint each individual piece of coal but I did glue each piece in place  :)

Something to do during self isolation, well, not really, I started this project of the old but long gone Muswellbrook roundhouse back in January and have just finished. I started with a generic kit and made necessary alterations but, the main departure from the original is the roof ventilator, it didn't extend to the side walls, it stopped short about 1.5M on each side. It's not exact but close enough for me.

Nice looking job Auto.
Very realistic even standing alone without background,  turntable etc.

So what scale is it and are you the Fat Controller?

Fred.

autocoupler

Thanks Pedro / Fred. The scale is HO or 1 in 87. I would be the fat controller if and when I ever get to building the layout, just hoping it will happen sometime this century, and it will   :yahoo:

That inner perfectionist is still shining Auto! Lovely work.

Great job.
Here is a photo of the real one. Too far away to see much detail but does give the general idea. Looks pretty sad now.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

Thanks uni / JeffH, The building is completely gone now but, the last time I was there which a couple of years back, the rear brick wall was still standing.

This self isolation caper is good for completing unfinished models. I purchased this 40 class loco kit in 1997 and was only half done until the CCP. Got a bit excited with the weathering but, in reality not far from how they were looking at various times during their twenty years of service commencing in 1952. The green livery was changed  to indian red long before their demise.
