So, I had a guy come up to me today, and tell me about his experiences with graysonline, and saying the word needed spreading about them.

He showed me two items he bought. An $1100 $1 star note, and a 1937 shilling! Both fakes, of course, both listed with shitty pics for a fraction of realistic value.

The note not only lacked watermark and thread, but had a very faint, low-contrast 'copy only' or similar in the bottom right corner.

The 1937 shilling was also an upset, which gives me a clue as to what it might actually be. Only 6 coins were produced, all Proofs, in museum collections. But single-sided patterns were made, and I suggested that one may have been milled, and a random obverse stuck in, about 40° rotated. Didn't have any magnification available, but I snapped a pic under the crappy lighting we had, which I've yet to look at.

Yeah, yeah, I know... this is par for the course on eBay. But here's the thing...

Which in my book makes them at least partially responsible for scams like these. OK, they're brand-new at this, and obviously don't have expertise, but they need to clean up their act if they're to be taken seriously, right?

Has anyone had experiences, positive or negative, in dealing with them?

I have bought many items from them in the last 5-6 years.. Never had a problem at all...

However I have never bought coins from them.
Collecting coins is not about having the best, but loving what you have ...

I only heard of them year ago, I think it was a add on tv, and associated it with old people, and I think there was booze or something

Yeah, I have a mate who collects military vehicles, and he's been a regular with them as long as I've known him.

But apparently they've only been doing Numismatics for a month or two.

I don't think he's got it resolved yet. He's been getting the runaround from support in the Phillipines. But if he takes up my offer to join here, you can ask him yourself soon, maybe. ;)

The sad part is, given the history of the service, and the existing clientele, there are likely a lot of users who are likely to bid on it. At lest on FleaBay, everybody knows the sharks are circling and there's blood in the water, so people have half a chance of being on their toes.
