Mister T

Haven't done much lately but I looked through a roll of one dollar coins and found a small rabbit ears. They're really not common at all.

Well done guys! :good: ..... Here's wishing to find some time to do some noodling.

What's going on with all the Parkes rotateds lately ...... they are such a hard coin to find. Goldie x heaps now Jeff!

Well that one is only the second I have found in my years of noodling.
Goldie does have access to many more coins than me which would help his cause.

Nice find.

But I don't understand the occasion. What were the Aussies before that? Brits?

JeffH

Precisely. If you were born in Australia prior to 26 January (Australia day), 1949 you were a "British subject". Not logical but that was the thinking from Federation in 1901.
In 1948, the Australian Citizenship Act came into effect.

Yes, it's not too bad for a 10 year old coin.
Makes me wonder how long it has been circulating.

A nice find Steve.

$200 of 50¢ today produced six Centenary of Federation (five different). That's better than usual strike rate.

Goldseeker

over the couple of days, I have noodled through 3,000 x $1 coins for nothing and 3,000 x $2 coins for 39 x coloured assorted coins.

Not much to talk/brag about.

The wifey gets all the coloured coins when found.
