Yes, a pale imitation Uni. Originally thought it was a scratch but have found several of them.

Thanks, :) think it's the crown of the emu's head, pedro.

I don't know about this one ?  2007 x 50 cent
on the head side at 8.00 and 9.00 2 lumps
on the tail side  at 9.00 and 10.00 2 lumps
.and on the edge are the 2 teeth marks .

take care because we care ..

ausjack

PMD sorry Kel, see how it's folded the metal.

:i_agree: Kel, those teeth marks must be from some type of coin sorter or roller or something as I've seen a number of them now.

keldaw

a big thank you guys , I thought so , but better to ask then not ask .

The 'teeth' marks look a lot like the coin was being either held in a vise or on top of the 'grip' of a vise so the 'lumps' could be manufactured'. PMD anyway.

Those indents are not from a vice.

During my noodling days, I found quite a few 50c pieces with those marks on them so I can safely say Not From A Vice.

Sorry Nevol to be against your conclusion.

does some kind of clamp grab the blank and hold it tight before it is stamped ? my way of thinking maybe it does so they don't rotate like the 2001 dollars ,and cause an upset coin to be made .why , well the marks on this coin are directly opposite each other and on the tail side , the metal is pushed up and to the middle of the coin just a little bit . if I hold the coin straight up to the top point , clock wise the damage is  on the 4 th to 5 flat panel , the corners shaved off , and from the top point anti clock wise the damage is on the 3 rd to the 4 th panel , going from the top point counting as 1 and going anti clock wise the markings are on the 3rd and 4th points , and clock wise the markings are on the 4  to 5 corners . .

I think maybe they are off set when they are dropped in to the press and the jaws of the clamp then grab them on the points ,instead of the flat area , ?????? maybe .
