Hello,

No luck finding the Pics I wanted. I will take more next chance.  http://www.remlr.com/Archive/swb/ann.html Now the Link says it was in Cooma, but a 4x trader Mag said Adaminaby. I was there and saw all the Landy's so maybe there was a group run there. Adaminaby like Jindabyne were towns moved for the Snowy Scheme. They even moved a stone church from what I have read. Very interesting history up that way, not that WA doesn't have its own share !

good luck for you too

$50,000,000 would be even better!!!

a woman here in canberra won $50,000,000 today on a $5.55 lotto quickpick ticket ... darn it it wasn't me!!!! didn't even have a ticket - I was looking at the sign the other night but the line at the counter was too log so I left ... ahh life's regrets as I often get a cheapie quickpick
the winner had only been in Australia for 10 years too

:yahoo: your rich according to the TV yesterday saying canberras houses are very expensive with the average price being over $1,000,000 so sell sell sell..think of all those coins you could get with that RG

robbiegal

are you serious?
I was reading the local paper yesterday and the average price in Canberra house was ....

"In April, Canberra home-buyers forked out an average of $530,000 to purchase a home"

I think some media outlets try to make out that Canberra is full of fat cats
Nah - those ones are all up on Capital Hill making our lives a misery and we pay them to do it too

there was something on ABC news a few days ago but I can't find it, stupid net :dash1: Yeah there's a lot of hype around when there shouldn't be.

Hello,

There is an oversupply of Units and Townhouses. They may have dropped slightly over the last couple of years. With Jobs leaving it will stay this way for a while.

I recon the houses in Canberra must cost a bomb to build.
you would need a semi trailer full of insulation in them to keep from freezing to death :laugh2:
Forgot to take any piccies of the inside :dash1:

Anyway found some piccies of my Jalopy on my phone :ok:

who needs an over priced house when you have a shiny land rover to live in
you could raise a family in that car!

yeah Chris - there are a million unit blocks being built around here and I keep thinking - are all the sacked public servants going to be able to afford the rent?

my hubby's work place is shrinking on a daily basis
almost every night he tells me about who just lost their job today
heartbreaking really

sorry Jim

Snow! This is W.A. you're talking about, we don't see snow.
It's winter here and the minimum is 14C and the max is 23C.
Beautiful one day, perfect the next. :)

Hello,

Great weather for camping out. Landy's played a part in the Snowy scheme as did Land Cruisers. Theisse who were contractors brought them out and were the Aussie distributors until Toyota became the one organization in I think the late 70's. At least the days are nice when the nights are clear / cold.

Yeah, some great books & heaps of Info. on the Net. about vehicles used in the Snowy. The Land Rovers kept breaking axles and sometimes Diffs.,(many of which ended up as concrete reinforcing),the Poms. sent out an Engineer to try and find out why after Les Thiess told them what he thought of their product, eventually he gave up and was looking at the 4WD Nissans they built for the Indian Army but ended up trialing the Toyota and so started the first major overseas market for Jap. Cars & Trucks.

I used to own one of the first Nissans, I had a G60 Short Wheel Base model .
Built like a brick outhouse and could go anywhere with its thumping big 6cyl petrol engine.

Bloody uncomfortable to drive due to the cramped space between you and that huge steering wheel .
I had this as my main fishing vehicle for a few years until it rusted to death.
Nothing wrong mechanically the body simply rusted apart :cray:

I left the car with one of my Mates in Perth last week because I didn't have the doctors OK to drive.
He is bringing it up to Geraldton for me tomorrow and I have booked him a flight home in the afternoon as I have now got the go ahead from my doc :yahoo:
Jeez it will be nice not to have to hassle Mrs Trout every time I need to go somewhere
