I doubt you'd be doing crayfishing (or should be) with skin grafts trout
skin grafts can be buggars of things to heal properly & can slide off at a whim so the donor/s really do need have taken a good grip

plus they know you are returning to a remote location so they'll probably keep you longer .... maybe you could (or have?) negotiate some day/overnight passes for outings or even an early discharge to a motel near by for day visits for dressing/checks etc?
 
if they don't do much with you on the week-end you might be able to swing week-end leave? if you are in a private room there might be a bit more flexibility with the hospital bed management

all that being said, I reckon i'd get cabin fever as well
I only hang around hospitals cause i'm paid to be there  & have only ever been an inpatient to have my 3 babies  and each time I couldn't wait to get out of the place!!! ha ha

all is good RG, I won't be going back to work until the wounds/breaks have healed.
I will however NOT be "poncing" about with 1hr a day physio when the time comes and drag out this compo BS , NO pain NO gain :ok:
While I am healing it will give me ample time to sue the crap out of the SOB that caused all this :aggressive:

If it's anything like NSW don't get your hopes up mate as we don't get stuff all over here now that the government fixed it all and same as workers comp, very sad as I feel like a burden on society now as I was meant to be on compo until retiring age but the GIO just cut you off after a couple of years and there's nothing you can do so now I cost the tax payer
