That's one of the mules Markn pulled out of the pokies. It sits in his collection at the bank and is certainly not for sale by whoever that eBay seller is.

This one is for sale:

Looks like they took most of the title too.

They've changed the image, I wonder where it's been stolen from now? Is that yours now Peter?

Yes that is the one I found at work. He's lifted that from the mule site..

1 day listing sold for $1,300. Buyer sees nice lustrous high grade coin, bids accordingly, receives a poor grade circulation coin. Someone isn't going to be happy.

Dishonest seller.

Naive buyer with feedback of 2.

Dishonest auction site. I did contact them by phone last night and ebay had the opportunaity to do something about it. They did not.

I'm not sure that he didn't buy it himself.  The seller (Coins4all2012) has a seller feedback rating of 2 both to the same buyer "12muie" who coincidentally has a feedback rating of 2 which is what the successful bidder for this coin has.  Both of 12muie's positive feedbacks come from .... you guessed it "Coins4all2012".  "Coins4all2012" has only been an ebay member since 20/11/12 and "12muie" has also only been a member since 22/11/12.

Too much of a coincidence for me but don't know why unless he's just trying to establish himself for something bigger down the track or he was just bidding himself to get it as high as possible then will default on the purchase so he gives the second highest bidder a second chance offer.

Interesting idea Steve  but the rating of 2 is almost certainly a coincidence as the winning bidder shows up as 2***2 (2)  which means a feedback of 2 and two 2's in the user id. 12muie has only one 2.

I'm sure he'll also try something bigger if he gets away with this.

Thanks Emu666.  I don't know enough about the hidden ids to disagree too strongly.  If the hidden id 2***2 shows the genuine first and last number then I'd have to agree with you.

However if you go to the 3 items 12muie has won.  In all three cases the hidden id of the successful bidder (ie 12muie) is 2***2 (2).

So all of Coins4all2012's seller feedback has come from 12Muie, and
All of 12Muie's feedback has come from Coins4all2012, and
both have only been members for about 3 weeks

I still suspect they are one and the same.

I reckon you're correct. It is the same buyer.
They must have changed the way they do it.

I agree with Steveqld, the full ID's don't always contain the 2 characters that are shown in the hidden ID's.  I've come across quite a few instances where only one original character is represented.

If the item is offered to the underbidder y***n, he/she should get it for their first bid prior to when 2***2 started pushing up the price, ie  $744, a big difference to $1300.  No-one else was bidding except those 2 after it reached $744.  It will be interesting to see who leaves FB for it, my guess is no-one will due to the extremely dodgy nature of the whole deal.  :dodgy:

I wonder if the seller even has a mule.

enworb

I doubt they even have a mule. I would guess they have rocked up on the ebay scene with the idea of taking someones money. Lets hope the buyer pays with paypal. if they pay with bank deposit theyre screwed.

If they've paid by paypal they are equally screwed. All the seller has to do is transfer the money to his bank account and then close the account.
