Nice coin. Of Tsar Nicholas I believe? Russian coins are rather diversified as it transferred from a monarchy to a semi democratic then communist regime. Not a lot of their coins sold here but overseas auctions have quite a range.

Yes I don't see many for sale in Australia, but if you look hard enough you can find them.

My rouble has Tsar Nicholas II. The coin is pretty worn out, I'll try to find some of my other coins over the coming days/weeks and post more pictures.

oh my florin

Nice he was the last tsar of Russia prior to the October revolution of 1917 and the eventual Communist regime quite a bit of history behind the coin. Can't wait to see the other coins you have. I went and had a look around some auctions and there certainly are some nice ones out there.

My only Russian coin, 5 Roubles 1899. A Friend who had a bread run back in the 80's found it in his change bag when checking the days takings. He gave it to me for $2 :yahoo:

As we age we lose three things, one is our memory and arrrrr I've forgotten the other two!

I have quite a few Russian coins, but would of had even more, if Austpost and/or Customs hadn't lost one of parcels somewhere in Melbourne. :(

Lovely old coins Mkonst.
I'm jealous. I think my oldest Russian coin is only 1936.
