"I must say I would love the mag to be more focused on Australian coins I mean it is called the Australasian Coin & Banknote magazine Incorporating Australian Coin Review. It's a quality mag but just not of interest to me any more"

Similar to you interest, and as we say, it's a quality publication. There must be any number of articles based on Aussie coinage that would have adorned the pages of Coin Review/CAB in the earlier years, and there must be many, many new readers (older ones as well) out there interested in Aussie numismatics who would never have had the opportunity to read this stuff. Why not recycle some of it?
As we age we lose three things, one is our memory and arrrrr I've forgotten the other two!

Recycling some of those old stories is a great idea & it would be a huge incentive for more readers to buy the mag.
It's the only one we have I would hate to see it go, I used to subscribe to it & look forwards to it arriving, I no longer subscribe  because the way it is heading there is no incentive for me to purchase I'm sorry to say.
Damn shame.

I suggest John would be happy to consider any submissions of material for the mag. He's certainly very happy when we contribute. If you're not aware it does actually pay. You would have to contact John but you would be rewarded with a sum per page.

Pay? You mean I missed out:-/  (Fred, where is my cut:heart:)
I hope most who contribute to the mag do it as an outlet for their passion for the hobby and not to get paid.
I don't think articles should be recycled but why don't some of you use those old articles as a guide to write fresh, new and up to date articles?
Trout could write on the Canberra (cover the steps, the proofs and those uniface patterns that sold recently), or the do's and don'ts of sending coins through customs for slabbing. PP could write on the curse of PVC and review the range of better options.
I'm sure many of us have a coin subject that we could cover so why not give it a go. Otherwise the mag will only have articles (even if well written) on collecting interests that most of us have little interest in; look at how many articles on hammered coins such as 12 Caesars, bishops coins, English treasure finds etc there have been this year yet I doubt those who collect those coins are a tenth of those who collect Aussie coins.

First you need a snappy title to grab attention.
How about "My Indecent Obsession"

Or for trout about '27 florins.

To write a good article on the Canberra Florin I would need to image a Proof coin.
Anyone care to send me one :laugh2:

I contacted the editor and apparently a few people have been affected. Two days later I got a replacement copy in the mail.

Just rehashing the idea about the forum/ members getting together and doing some articles etc. for the CAB, there is a lot  of knowledge and info in  here. You just take a look at the noodling finds for starters, some of those would have to be fairly hard to find. I think there would be some interesting topics that could surface out of this. Pick a topic and take it from there sort of thing. Just thinking out aloud again. Dang fingers :)just go wandering sometimes.
