jens coins

I just checked the 50c coins and don't know if I like the design or not, but definitely different.

Its going to make it tough on the 50 cent collectors, They will have to get all 4 sets just to get the 4 different 50 cent coins :dodgy:

I just did a quick check, if I wanted to just keep an up to date set of Uncirculated coins, (NO PROOFS)
I would have to start with
Baby set $45
Uncirculated set $25
Alphabet a-z set $351
2015 Year of the Goat $13.50
2015 50c Uncirculated Tetra-decagon Coin $12.50
Total of $447.00
That's before 2015 even starts.
Then comes the "C" coin on Jan the 1st all the mobile press coins AAAAAAAAAAGH!
Bloody lucky for me that I will not be chasing my tail any more by trying to keep an up to date decimal set.
DISCLAIMER:- if Lizzie falls off the perch next year I will be forced to buy each & every one of these coins so I can then have an official ending 1966 to 2015.

  Vale Gough
I met him once at my old Uni and have his signature on a piece of paper (cause I forgot to bring my 'The Dismissal' book for him to sign!) He thought I was a bit odd or suss but he eventually decided it was safe to sign the blank paper. I most certainly was in the number 1 fan club. Australia  has never seen a more truly dedicated people's PM since. Although I am a bit fond of old Malcolm as well.
I guess that they (the RAM) will quickly knock up a coin for Gough.

Ironically my daughter's grandmother also died peacefully (although, totally unexpected) today.

Cougar

Sorry to hear that RG. Your daughter grandmother was your mother or her fathers mother?

robbiegal

her father's
both of my parents have died many years ago
though, she was like a mother to me as well so I'm sad too

Very sorry to hear that RG. :(

Unicorn

Indeed sad, sorry to hear RG.

Your signature story reminds me of when I was in primary school and Bert Oldfield visited (1973 I think). I had to ask the Principal's Secretary for a piece of paper on which he wrote a lovely note wishing me the best at cricket. I did have it in a frame hanging on the wall in my Father's shed but when I was there last it was nowhere to be found. :( Perhaps it will turn up.

robbiegal

sorry Uni but I had to google Bert Oldfield - I am now the wiser
perhaps the note will show up again one day

i'd have to dig a bit to find my old copy of The Dismissal with Gough's signature on what is probably now yellowing papr

Unicorn

Yellowing or not it sounds a fabulous piece RG!

robbiegal

funnily enough Uni
I found it! And it was ... on the bookshelf as well - miracle
I will put it back
