Well looks like some people got what they wanted and it's just about boring old coins now so very few new posts so it's very stale ATM as the forum did get a bit of a community feel going for a little while but that seems to have been a façade and disappeared really quickly and looks like it won't be back in a hurry but that's probably a good thing if it helps stop people getting ripped off, just be careful on who you trust here

We need more forums so there's a choice to go to as really what is there besides here and ccf :(
A wise person knows there is something to learn from everyone.

Coiny Chris

Hello,

I dont agree, there are many topics that come up, and there was an acid Post in one of your threads that was removed very fast. People will come and go, so there will always be new input. Some normal banter is still here, but as everyone gets to know more about each other, it is like camping with mates and telling the same stories around the fire. Why not ask a Mod to create another section with fixing / making things ? It will bring more people that Google for something, and they may stay. I have joined Forums that I found while looking for info, or putting it out there to help others. Some stickies with Costs and Pics of desk-top Coin holders, favourite camping spots, home repair come to mind. Some Forums have people that get nasty, I havnt seen that here apart from the Posts that were pulled. Some people type before they think, or may have had a skin-full. Message to the young Ladies here, get a new Man as full as a goog, and see if he stays nice.
A rolling Coin gathers no change. C Chris

Ozcoins

Hi AJ,
I think it's just a bit quiet at the moment.
Keep in mind that this is a small forum, and being about coins, most posts are going to be about coins.

Basil

Yeah, all Forums ebb & flow(then again it could be all the problems associated with Win 8.....LOL.) but overall a great specialist Forum with some very knowlegable members.

I think having an open Forum like the US Oz. section would make it easier for people to post and introduce new blood but after saying that you would need 24 HR moderating.

I respectfully beg to differ.  There's been tonnes of interesting coin stuff on here in the last week or two.

And AJ, yes, it's a coin forum first and foremost, and you shouldn't be surprised if people post about coins on it.

Real numismatics is not boring.
Its all about history, economics, people etc.
The actual coins can be boring yes because they are just bits of metal.

There was a suggestion at the start of this forum that there would be some real numismatic research presented.
Sadly this has not happened.
Too much chit chat about all sorts of other issues I reckon.

robbiegal

ok then
give us your research findings .......

I'd be happy to present some real numismatic research.
However such ''boring'' posts get lost amongst other chit chat type posts.

I was actually referring to other members posts who are professional numismatists.
There is much numismatic knowledge around that needs to be brought together.
And that there is a need for a forum to consolidate it.
I am disappointed that this has not happened here.

I beg to differ on that. I see helpful info in various threads in many forms, may not be Stephen Hawkin like, and some of it may not fall into line with everyone's interest, but it's there just the same.
