I did send some coins in but I suspect the 38 crown and 34/35 florin will come back genuine details. But who knows they may slip through :)
It was actually quite easy. I used their online form which gets emailed to you which u print out and sign. The hardest thing is choosing what to send! I have about 500 misc coins to send a some point but I am in no hurry. I can't wait to get the 66 proof set results however :) it should put me in the top 5

500 coins is going to take a lifetime to get slabbed considering the cost Serial. I registered my first set a couple of weeks ago which happened to be a 1966 proof set which is ranked at number 6.If you are going to come in at number 5  I might have to seriously think about crossing over my NGC PF69  1966 50 cent

500 slab worthy coins will cost a pretty penny. I hear APCGS is cheap (Trout, that is your tap in point).

Well I may be jinxing myself but I purchased a 66 proof set that was 1 owner and had no toning or spotting and the original plastic still in place. I have high hopes for it

I bought  8 sets like that to achieve my registry set so I hope
you get some good ones out of it

I have just got home and am wading through the "Unread Posts" and came across this :)

If you send a hundred at a time it will most likely cost you a couple of grand a time with PCGS, If you send them to APCGS is will most likely be cheaper BUT a total waste of money :laugh2:

Anyway I am heading into the post office on Tuesday and will be sending my entire 25mm silver $1 proofs set into PCGS along with all my remaining pad printed 25 mm $1 coins .
I will eventually get all my 25mm $1 coins slabbed by PCGS and that will most likely take me a couple of years to do Due to the expense and time required to submit them :ok:

There is absolutely NO way I can compete in the pre decimal sets but the 25mm $1 coins are within most collectors reach and I am willing to spend the quids to get my coins graded so that I can compete with the Best :dance2::)

Hmmm do I start a registry war with trout as well? I have a spare mint set or two in all the years I could break up. :p
Problem is I have several coins already lined up for my next run including a mule , several 67 no sd's and mint roll 68 1 cents. Just got to get the minister for war and finances permission 1st

Oh and good luck with the submission trout

I think that the few 25mm $1 coin collectors with at least a 99% complete collection are a minority group and the ones with them graded are a rare breed indeed , I intend to be one of them :)

After seeing Emu66's coins in slabs and the grades achieved by him it got me thinking why can't I lift my game and do the same thing :)

There is NO way that I could be as good a grader as Peter But that just adds more spice to the challenge :)

Simply getting all the coins graded is a Major challenge (regardless of the ranking) and IMHO a worthy numismatic endeavor regardless of the cost  :ok:

How many of the 500 "misc" coins are pre decimals? If you mostly have decimals then your slabbing costs are much more reasonable.
I ran my calculator over the costs and I'll get naff all change out of 3 grand by sending under 90 slab worthy coins (and that is after deciding that I'm better/cheaper off buying my own camera than paying for TrueView). The packet of coins must be flying first class on Concorde with the shipping costs and why does it cost $40 extra just for them to go "yep, that is a double clipped florin".  Must take all of 30 seconds to determine that.
The only fun part about determining which coins to whittle down to send was looking through my top shelf box today and seeing how gooood some of them are. Get to go:yahoo: all over again.

I recon get your own camera to take the images.
Maybe at first they may not be as good but eventually they will be better and a lot more fun learning how to do it :good:

A lot Neal. I bought a 10 kg box of coins in unopened from a deceased estate awhile ago and when I opened it I found many coins from all over the world from late 1700 to early 1900. My best coin came out of this box. Have a look at pcgs pop report for an 1883 half rupee. That came out of the box.
That one box has been my once in a lifetime find and is why my partner allows me to buy so much

I was wondering where you got all those Indian coins from and it was really nice that you shared one with me.
Much appreciated Mate :yahoo:

yeh I have only parted with a few things from that box
it has some very old weird stuff in it. I don't know the history of the gentleman who passed away but it would appear that he was based in india during the late 1800's and had enough money to put coins aside.
1903 1/4 rup is another number one I hold thanks to that box others include 1883, 1890, 1888 1/4 rup, 1883, 1882 2 annas, 1751 6 pence
every time  I send coins to get graded a get a few more top off pops
this isn't top of pops but it is my favourite out of that box

had a dealer offer me $50 when I 1st got it but they seemed way to eager to get it.
it hit ms 62 with great toning

I had seen your coins and wondered why it was an eclectic mix.
Did you buy that box at Lawsons? They are infamous for doing wrong by sellers.
