Is there some way to "mark posts as read"? Then only unread posts will appear when you click on 'View new posts'. I get a heap of my own posts in this list, and I really don't need to read them.

Down the bottom right on the main home page there's a link "mark all forums read".

In each sub-forum over on the right up the top near "new reply" you can click "mark this forum read".

Now that is pretty easy.....just cannot get the smilies to work.

Barry, do you see the above image at the left side of the post area?  If you do, click on [get and a pop up menu of smilies should appear.  If they don't, check that you don't have them Disabled just under the post area box.

I don't know what's wrong, you should see that box with all the jumping smilies. Try typing their code eg. idea in between ::  and see if you get a smilie or not. If I type it, it becomes a smilie

Maybe try this http://www.australian-coins.net/misc.php?action=smilies&popup=true&editor=clickableEditor

Does that give you a page of bouncing smilies?

Probably a browser issue.  What browser and version are you using?

I BET you are doing quick reply in the big box at the bottom of the page, instead look for the new reply tab just above it to the right, it re-loads a new page with all the extra options. ;)

Really?
I will do a screen capture for you

Ok I shrunk the picture to 70%

And I didn’t get the very top logo in or the bottom of the page, but you can see the quick reply box.

Hay there is also a new reply tab at the top and bottom of the post page.

Nevol

I see it in your screen capture, but I've never seen it at the bottom of any of the pages I've viewed.  It may be something for Mark to investigate.

I don't have any probs with the smilies, so the way my version is working is OK with me.

Doesn’t matter if it doesn’t show up

Ok a neat little short cut for people (Smilies Listing) a list of smiley pics and the : text : you type in for each pic.
