I received this coin last week. It is a KM#99 from Mozambique. One Metical 1980 and mintage only 32000. It got me thinking, what is the lowest mintage circulating (or circulated) coin?
Let's see what you have or just let me know what is out there. :)

Sorry for going of topic Steve but what is the KM# for, is this your own code? And that's a really good question and sorry I can't answer but I'll through another spanner in the works and ask if error coins come into this as I have a few that I haven't seen anyone else post pic's of like my MOR with the two dots between the roos paws..yep there's one in every croud mate :)

KM# is the Krause Michler Number from the Standard World Coin Catalogue.
Not looking for errors here, AJ, just normal circulation coins.

Just went through my spreadsheet and found these...

26000
British Virgin Islands 5c 1973

24000
Jersey 50p 1972 - Silver Wedding

10000
Turkey 20 Lira - F.A.O.

The only thing is, I can't verify if they are circulation only coins.
Nothing mentioned in the catalogue.

Very handy tool for the world coin collector.
I must admit I went many years without it.
There are some good online catalogues.

Looks like some of the English Maundy money has low mintages but I guess that is not really meant to circulate. Our 1923 half Penny has a low mintage, but I don't own one. Any one have a pic of this coin?

Fiji has some very low mintage coins.
This one is 20000 I believe.

JeffH

Fiji certainly had a lot of rather low mintage years with pre-decimal (40,000 or less).
1938 florin was only 20,000 too. I don't have a '38 florin (now one of very few gaps in my set) to show you so here is next best at 24,000.

Nice coins everyone. Thanks for sharing.
I wonder if Nancy has that bird coin (Fiji 1941 Florin).

I think Nancy might just have a few Fiji florins with that shield on.
