Hey all, just wondering if anyone on the forum has or can get any photos of the minting machine for 50 cent coins? If not the whole machine than pictures of the parts that the coin would pass through.

Thanks

Fulvio

If you Google "Canberra Mint Press" you get quite a few pics. Dunno if they're any good to you... what do you need to know?

Cheers, I'm just a bit bored and am wanting the pics to find out what could cause a certain error or if it could be pmd..

:laugh2: ... I think they both make the contenders list!

I'm putting my money on a jam in the Commonwealth Bank's "coin destroyers". I've often seen staff trying to sort out some sort of problem with them.

If I hear any more thoughts Matt I'll let you know.

btw: Very commendable for taking that puzzle on!

Cheers much appreciated. I thought someone had sent an image of the damaged coin into CAB or the mint, if so I would like to hear what the reply was.

Ozcoins

It's definitely PMD which has occurred outside the mint.
1. They have only surfaced relatively recently.
2. 'Fresh' ones appear on old coins.

Yup. Been pretty comprehensively covered in one or two threads here. Definitely coin handling equipment, quite possibly the CBA's coin counters since they started showing up after they went into service.

Nice crack, PPH!
