I don't think the one at the bottom right is silver.

If it was me I'd put it on my hoard of treasure, bury myself in said hoard and defend it from wandering dwarves.

As I said, 'some ring ins'. I need to go through and check them all to be sure. Did notice some tin coins in there too.

Yes, some very nice coins but some rather poor ones too. I didn't include a few UNC ones (in flips) in the photo Might try to get some good shots of them and post next Saturday.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

echidna, the 1920 pennies struck in Sydney have a flat obverse rim, so maybe that would apply to other coins (silver) struck in Sydney. now I'll need to dig out my halfpennies to see if that also applies to them. Maybe even applies to the Sydney struck sovs?

Thanks Neal

My guess is that Sydney thrashed the dies a bit more.
Early strikes were OK and cannot be distinguished from Melbourne (where both mints struck a particular date).
However their later strikes were weak especially the obverse rim.
And for examples with a clear weak obverse rim I classify them as "Sydney" strikes.
I dont claim this as fact - just my take on the differences.

1921 sixpence that looks like a "Sydney"strike:

OK I am a bit late with this but I have only just got home and I didn't have access to my camera or my coins.
That is my excuse and I am sticking to it

I love the satiny finish and the antique like toning on this coin.

In regards Sydney silver having flatter rims I noticed that an eBay seller with 1921 threepences (no M) is listing them as Sydney struck. Seller is numis189 and item no is 111824356380. Now is that seller right/wrong or just guessing? If true then perhaps the 1922/21 overdate would also be Sydney?
Opinions?

I could be wrong but I think 21 threepences were only struck in Melb...
The weak/dodgy obverse rims are only really evident on better grade examples anyway.

I was hoping to do a "Show and Tell" on a rather nice 1,1/2 penny but it didn't arrive and there is NO mail on Saturdays here.
I did however pick this up from the post office today.
The reverse has great surfaces less 1 small hit just below the "N" in COMMONWEALTH ( you have to angle the coin to see it) also a small rim ding at 12oclock and a rather Good strike.
The obverse is also nicely struck with nice clean Fields, However there is the usual "Rub" on the Kings Cheek and a tiny "Hit" on the truncation of his neck.
These are sooo hard to find without a single mark due to their size and the fact that not many people liked these when they were issued.
All in all a reasonable coin :)

This came back from PCGS graded MS62

I picked this up from the Post office yesterday.
I bought this to add to my Brit India set registry .
Only an AU50 coin But these are incredibly hard to find that haven't been cleaned.
