hummm
it looks a bit like foreign matter that has disappeared somehow in the heat of mint processing and then the planchet edge has collapsed where it was?

my coin has a very sadly die filled Australia in the ribbon

Robster

On the positive side Robbie; "A wonderful example of die fill combined with exceptional condition for age"

This Coin Finally turned up :yahoo:
It is a 1 1/2d or a Three halfpenny coin.
Beautiful little thing, about the same size as a Maundy Penny.

 Diam: 12mm Weight: 0.7g
Silver 92.5% Copper 7.5%
Spink:3839 ESC:2251A
Davies:412

Specially designed for the collection plates of West Indian churches, into which god-fearing folk considered it terrifically bad form to put copper coinage

Being a quarter of a sixpence, it became known as the Christian Quattie.

I will have to look further into the history of this particular coin :good:
