Well, I named myself after this coin so I suppose I should create a thread about them.  Their price has been consistantly rising since I first started to be interested in them which was way back in 2000.

It took me until 2006 before I could buy my first one - the Uncirculated ones were not as commonly traded as I would have liked.  And I really had no idea how to even source one - thankfully that has changed.

I'm still on the lookout for another one for my son - but I'm finding it hard to buy a lower graded one because the price doesn't move as much.

Well, this is mine.  I'll show you mine if you will show me yours!

Here's mine which I am very proud of. I purchased it off eBay around 2006 as gEF for $700ish and it's graded now PCGS MS64.

Sheesh - if you really can't remember where it is then just send it my way - I'll remember where it is. :yahoo:

I have one i found from circulation. It took thousands of dollars worth of 20c coins but i got there eventually. Its not my prettiest coin or my most valuable coin but it is my favourite because it was something i put my mind to and found. Its one variety which really works well with the design, rather than detracting from it.

My avatar is one I found from circulation. Not the greatest but not having to buy one is nice.

I've  bought 5, found none, recently did a straight swap of 1 x wavy for 1 x 2000/10c Mule.  Keeps me happy.

Got to work one day, and one of the managers passed me a '66 20 and said, "We don't see too many of these nowadays". I looked at at and replied, Especially a wavy base type".  The value was around $200, it was not a good example.

Ozcoins

I found a wavy a few months ago while noodling.
I will have to post a pic!

Had a lucky day on Monday and found two of these coins on the same day!

Selling both if anyone is interested. I've posted on the Buy / Sell thread.

Probably will be a while until I find another example. I love these coins.

I found an UNC wavey baseline in a 1966 uncirculated set back around 2003. I wasn't sure of the value and took it to a coin dealer in Brisbane who rang around before offering me $80. Because I wasn't sure of the value I sold it and have been deeply regretting it ever since. Still feel like I was badly ripped off and have not been able to replace it.

JeffH

If a dealer offers a half respectable price and you want to sell it -put it on eBay and you will probably get a fully respectable price.
What is going price for an UNC wavy now? Average circulated are fetching better then $200.

$1500 plus I'd think.  The PCGS MS66 examples that sold a couple of years back got $3000+.
