Kedron , Brisbane , is the area that I sent a coin to so maybe they have one of my ex coins too.

 I sold a 2001 offset $ 1 dollar on ebay  to a guy in that area a few months ago for $ 59.00 + postage .

good money for that coin but the coin was a very good  one .

Very close to home.  Only a kilometer or so from my place and I've been looking around there for a new house.  Relax Kel as Upper Kedron is, strangely, nowhere near Kedron.

thanks steve , I never knew that ..   ,, kel ,,

I get the mistake a lot from tradesmen who make the same assumption.  I think it is because Kedron is so named because it is on the waterway "Kedron Brook".  Upper Kedron is up at the start of that waterway so I think "Upper Kedron" is actually a shortened version of "Upper Kedron Brook".

Not that it matters one iota.:winkextra::winkextra:

This version of the story from the ABC website says that "the house had bleach all through it". Why did they use bleach? Does anyone know?

Maybe they wiped their fingerprints off everything? *shrug*

Actually.... a quick search turned this up:

"New York - A group of thieves in New York City decided to try a method they saw in a movie to cover their tracks after their crimes. Their plan entailed using bleach in order to erase their DNA from the crime scenes.
Their inspiration came from the 2010 movie "The Town" starring Ben Affleck. Affleck plays a character who is a leader of a ruthless group of thieves. They conduct a string of robberies and pride themselves on being able to steal anything they desire without being caught.
According to the New York Daily News, the thieves went on a 14-month long crime spree targeting several businesses in Brooklyn. They targeted businesses such as pizzerias, corner stores, and discount stores. They were even able to steal money out of ATMs. They would often cut power lines and use miners' headlamps to see in the dark.
Police dubbed them the "splash-and-dash" bandits, because they would pour bleach in the places they robbed in order to cover up their DNA evidence. They even reportedly poured bleach over ATMs and cash registers after they were emptied.
Reuters reports that the thieves were able to net a total of $217,000 during their crime spree.
A total of 4 men have been arrested in connection with the theft ring, while another suspect is currently incarcerated on an unrelated charge. It is unknown how the police were able to track the thieves and bring them to justice."

Now, as far as I knew, bleaching a crime scene was only effective to mask blood spatter, because it gives everything a blue glow when sprayed with Luminol. But maybe these guys got their wires crossed, or watched too much CSI. Can't see the relevance for a simple robbery....
