I was reminded of a show (Macworld?) where one of the magazines built a couch out of old Mac Plusses for their stand, and of course started thinking about doing the same thing with coins.

And just like dead cats, there must be lots and lots of things you can do with all that cash lying around the old money bin, right? Sure, you can just swim in it, but what about other fun stuff?

So here's a couple off the top of my head. Feel free to add more.

Dumbbells - Why spend several dollars per kilo to get those biceps into shape when you can just use those sacks of coins you already have lying around?

Barbells - For a more complete workout, make your own barbells, using a couple of milk crates filled with coins, joined by a length of water pipe. So much easier to adjust the weights too. And being taller, when you drop one, it won't cut your head off! :)

Bean Bags - Everyone has a half-empty beanbag with a ripped seam from people throwing themselves into it, right? So rather than buying more beans (and vacuuming up messy spillages), just use wads of cash instead. Paper works best, so dig out those grotty old paper notes (or use US greenbacks). And to stop the kids jumping on the bags, fill them with coins instead! :diablo:

got a bit of spare time on your hands there mate?

Sapyx

Waterside skippers - for places where skipping-stones have all been skipped already.

Slingshot ammunition - just the thing for chasing away feral animals and other pests.

Ninja throwing stars - our 50 cent pieces can be lethal weapons in the hands of a trained master.

Bulletproof vest plating - especially handy once the slingshot and ninja things start to take off.

Floor tiling - quite painstaking to install, but definitely a conversation-starter when entertaining visitors.

Golf ball markers - in the unlikely event that your golf ball actually lands on the green.

Christmas tree ornaments

Earrings, cuff-links and other jewellery

Dental repairs. Don't wince, but a wealthy American tourist, visiting Italy in the early 1900s and needing dental works done, decided to buy some rare Roman gold coins and use those to make a nice new set of false teeth. They were carefully sculpted so you could still see the portraits.
Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.

The mint already did that. :)

Super Awesome Micro Project Factoids

• More than 500,000 LEGO pieces were used.
• The car engine is made from standard Lego pieces and runs on air!
• The engine has four orbital engines and a total of 256 pistons.
• Top speed is not very fast, around 20-30km (We were scared of a lego explosion so we drove it slowly)
• It was built in Romania and shipped to a secret location in suburban Melbourne.
• It's a Hot Rod design, mainly because hot rods are cool.
