A 1998 $1 rabbit ears and a black Olympic $2 (not from Woolworths).
Looks like some people who got Olympic coins from Woolies are re-spending them.

Yesterday at Woolies the girl opened the change bag and I received 2X2 dollar coins, not Olympic:@

gnome

Got this one amongst the change this week.

I always dreamt of finding something like this when I was a kid, but as I got older, I thought it would never happen (due to quality control). Now, it seems that I was wrong, and my own childish instincts were correct after all. :yahoo:

You should have seen some of the returns from the local laundromat a few weeks ago. They were a goldmine for coloured Olympic coins.

That's a lovely fill Gnome! Top find :good:

Hercules

Are you really sure it's a die fill? To me, it looks as if they've rubbed out the final digit to prepare the die for the next year, but forgotten to add the new digit that was meant to replace it. Do you think this is possible?

gnome

Hard to be sure, it's not in the best of conditions.

robbiegal

that is great
i once had a 1964 Melbourne penny with absolutely no KG
and have never found one since

that beauty for sure is a keeper!

ausjack

Pretty sure it's a die fill and I found a 196 penny that I sent to trout a few years ago but it might have been PMD, it's probably down the back paddock with a hole in it now :mocking:

You sent me a 950 half penny and it is one of the coins that I always have on my desk :)
I will take a pic shortly when I wake up properly from my Nanna nap :)
