Found this in a bank roll last night! :Yahoo: I was not expecting anything like that at all! A bit disappointing so much of the paint has been rubbed off, but I guess I could sell it on ebay as a "rare error"! :P

Now do I put it with my circulating coins or NCLT? :scratch_one-s_head:

Yes a bit of acetone and sell as rare :)

Got given a 1992 10c in change today as well, still in pretty good nick. First proof in change for me. :)

Triggersmob

Well, not exactly in my change, but today I found three foreign coins in one bag of 10c coins, in the till at work.
I spotted something wasn't quite right in the bag, so opened it up and took out a 1999 100 Rupiah coin from Indonesia.
Then on further inspection, I found a 2010 1000 Rupiah and a 2006 NZ 50 cent. So much for quality control at the banks.

ausjack

Not much quality control anywhere these days Steve but at least you found a few.

Purple 2$ coin... but one of the purple stripes is missing :(

ausjack

They weren't very well done and the paint comes off easily :dash1:

I went into town today to post a parcel over seas to the usa,
I gave it to the lady , and she put it on her scales to weight it .
and she said to me that will be $15.45 thanks , so I gave her a
$ 20.00 note , when she went to the till to give me my change of
$ 4.55 , she had to open up a new sealed plastic bag of .50 cent coins , then she gave me my change and I went outside of the shop and looked at the .50 cent coin , because it came out of a plastic mint bag , the coin is brand new looking and dated 1981 .
.50 cent coins from 1981 still in a mint sealed bag , where have they been all this time ..???

opps  ,,,, it is my mistake , I wrote .20 cent , should have been .50 cents
I have just fixed it up ..
take care because we care ..

robbiegal

wonder if the rest of the bag were the same coins Kel

keldaw

I believe so Robbie , because I was standing right at the counter and she cut the bag open with a pair of scissors'  and they all looked the same to me , I almost went back inside and ask her for more in exchange for a ten dollar note , then I thought , no I don't need any more coins now , as I have enough already .

I am afflicted the same way. Since numismatics is the study of coins and a numismatician is a coin collector, I have 'numismatosis'.......the disease that one has when he wants to sell his collection, but sadly, still buys coins. (There's a coin show just 70 miles (115 km) from me this coming Saturday.....I'm going.)
