Upon the swearing in of Tony Abbott as PM, Treasury Secretary Dr. Martin Parkinson has announced that he will step down in June next year. This will probably mean there'll be a new signature combination on our banknotes in 2015.

To date, the only notes to have the Stevens/Parkinson combination are the $5, $10 and $50.

Dunno if I'd call it awesome, myself. Every move so far is 100% politically motivated revenge, and they've been in the job a whole three minutes so far. :(

Twenties are produced so often there would be a good chance of a run in 2013 or 2014. Hundreds are needed less often.
Still, it would be worth a punt to get some 2013 dated notes from the Reserve Bank next year as the last prefixes could become last signature prefixes.
