500 million, yes with due dilligence, and attention to detail and a billion dollars one could corner the market!

"I have for sale a Security Roll of UNC $2.00 coloured coins ( 25 ) Queen Elizabeth 60th Anniversary of Coronation"

What's the fuss!?
Are there any claims?
Are there any lies?
Is there any fraud?
Is there any untruth?
He is selling what he has described!

It matches the image.

Please tell me what is wrong with that auction!

You're too trusting. The only way to verify the claim is to open the roll.  Once you've done that, you can't return it, and the seller can claim substitution by you.  It's a big risk for that amount of money.-John

That one word, that's what.

Listen, I roll my own coins. I've described the process here, for both paper and LDPE rolls. I know exactly what I put in each roll, and describe it accurately, both for my own archival purposes and any eventual sale should I go that way.

But I do NOT call them security company rolls, or any such term. If I were to sell you one, you would know it was packed by ME, not think it came direct from Armaguard. You would therefore know that unless I stated otherwise, every coin has already been checked for errors, for example.

If I buy an unopened Armaguard roll, or RAM roll for that matter, I expect it to be no different from one I get direct from the bank myself. This is clearly not the case with home-rolled or repacked rolls, therefore I would always assume the worst.

And should this sort of thing catch on, it would destroy confidence in all rolls, just like basement slabs do.

I've actually been a victim of ROLL FRAUD on ebay so i reckon you'se would know how i feel about scammers & well worded deceptive descriptions.   :ireful::diablo::Gigakach_01:

Nice use of the expression "you'se" accumulator, I bought 3 rolls off pph and they were kosher, what else would you epect? But I think the difference between 'scammers & well worded deceptive descriptions' is kinda blurry. :dontknow:

Oh, I dunno about that...

There are certain attributes that automatically send up big red flags. Like, um, BIG RED text with LOTS OF CAPS for starters. And certain words and phrases, like say "Rare" and "Mule-like" to cite two. Plus anyone who claims to have no knowledge, or who found the items down the back of the couch, or in dad's shoebox or something. And of course conveniently blurry pics.

If I were going to sell something, anything, I'd do some research to find out exactly how to describe it accurately, then state the facts clearly and succintly. And include at least reasonable pics.

Its not a coincidence that all the scammers follow certain patterns, and its only reasonable to assume everyone using those patterns is likely a scammer.
