Seems that 2000 $1 Mule coins are more popular when they are cleaned

Interseting. Not sure I agree with an aUnc grading for this coin, even though he does caveat the auction by saying it's aUnc according to his standards. Just by saying it's aUnc in his standards doesn't obviate the duty he has to apply a more objective view on grading.

He has declared it might have been cleaned, but can't see how this is fetching $610 and counting....

It is a high grade coin (EF/aUNC) is probably right but the fact that it is cleaned should put people off it you would think but apparently not

Kudos to mentioning it has been cleaned, and IMO the AU53 / AU55 grade is about right.
The wear is minimal, albeit a little battered from a short time in circulation. Nice coin, but mules aren't for me.

Mmmm.... the only evidence I can see of cleaning is a few scratches in the lower left under the tail, and that wouldn't put me off.

However I disagree with the aUNC grading. Its more than a little battered... looks like a mugging victim beaten to death with a cricket bat.

looks like the poor woman has been slashed a bit round the face. On any other coin, I wouldn't think twice of just spending it.

Bidding started at 99 cents.

imho $600+ is a good price for a nice coin.
Plus seller is offering money back if not satisfied.

Centering is less important than actual grading.
I'd prefer the highest grade vs a perfect center!

Sorry Sulla, I must disagree. Central in more important then the grade, not the grade then centralization.

Have you found a Mule or own one?

I've never found a 2000 $1 mule

Would love one for collection in the higher grade
I'd prefer to buy from a real dealer not online
