After spending an hour in the wrong que :dash1: I ended up ordering a few "P" counterstamp from one of the dealers.

It cost me an extra $2 a coin but I just couldn't face the long que for them , anyway I will be getting some and will be able to send a couple away :good:
I saw some stunning coins but only bought a ch UNC 1972 5 cents and a 2009 "Goose" 20 cent coin.
By the look of the coins I saw and the prices my collections could be worth a lot more than I think they are
There was some nice Canberra florins there but I didn't see any better than mine :dash1:
I wish I could have spent longer there but I have to work tonite and travel tomorrow:cray:

If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for the 20cent goose?

$50 for the goose. $35 for the 72 5cent coin :good:

I think you did pretty well on the 1972 5c. Would love to see some close pictures when you get a chance.

Its better than any i have. I really appreciate the beauty of the decimal coins but just haven been bitten by the bug yet to start collecting them actively.

I was like that only a couple of years ago:angel:
I was of the mindset that if the coin wasn't silver or old copper it wasn't worth my effort.
WOW has that idea done a huge backflip for me :laugh2:
I have found the decimal coins harder to get than my pre decimals simply because there is such a huge amount of issues of these coins.
It all started for me just getting a couple of dansco's and filling the holes from circulation ( dead easy I reconed), It didn't take me long to realise that there are so many coins only available in mint sets or are realy low mintages.
If you are going to take the "decimal road" start off on the 1,2,5 and 10 cent sets.
Once you get into the 20 cents and above things will get realy interesting :good:
A great number of decimal coins have a lower mintage than the 1930 penny and they are still getable without selling the house at the moment but ARE hard to find.

I know for sure that if (probably more so when) i go down the decimal path it will not include NCLT. I pick up the odd NCLT coin that has a good theme or design but other than that it does little to nothing for me.
