Quote from: 'JeffH' pid='86318' dateline='1459238380'I am getting the hang of the third party software for my scanner now. The Canon software is crap.

What's the TP software called Jeff?

VueScan Scanner Software
When I first tried it my Canon MX926 was producing scrambled scans. I contacted Ed Hamrick, the developer, who asked for some sample scans. He sent fixed upgrade within the day.
My purchase allows me to use it on both my scanners and there are regular updates (no charge).

It also has the benefit of not recognising the EURion Constellation so no problem scanning newer banknotes. Also scans to a PDF file and that can be multiple pages.

Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

Thanks Jeff. Mine is a Canon LiDE700F which is meant to do 9600 x 9600 dpi which is why I bought it. So far I'm stuffed if I can work out how to make it scan at that resolution.

Well give VueScan a go -free to try. If you like it then you can consider one of the paid versions. Same download file for any version from free to pro and you just enter the numbers from the receipt next time you open it.
9600x9600 is seriously high resolution. Mine is 2400x4800 and my old scanner (that I hardly ever use now) would certainly be less.

Thanks heaps Jeff.

When I bought it I purely had very very high definition scans for errors in mind so hopefully I can get it up to it's "supposed" specifications.
