I think my best penny (1919 from memory) has scratch marks as bad where someone was looking for a dot near the scroll. Must see if I can find it.

Robbiegal, the area below the kings chin that I'm referring to is the flat area between  the chin and the cloak/collar. Because it stands proud of the chin and collar the area punches the opposing die causing the spur.
