Someone must have light fingered them, thought no one would notice in a bulk lot. Must have been taken early on hence no one bid higher. I don't know if it went further.

Woow that's no good. I always pick up my lots directly from Noble after payment. You have to sign confirming that you have taken possession of it. Then again I usually only go after 1 or 2 lots. Never a bulk lot.

I have, however, put in a bid on the website. But after the auction the lot was not sold.

i was told that you can't pick up the lots straight after the auction at Nobles ?

Sorry RG. I meant I picked them up after I got the invoice in email and made payment via bank transfer.

The irritating part is even though you put in a bid, the lot didn't end up getting sold. There is a hidden reserve. Since I only go for 1 or 2 lots at most, I sometimes go home empty handed.

hidden reserve is norti

yes - i onlky asked as I have known people here who come home from the auction empty handed and then have to get their treasures posted at a later date

I agree, If something has a reserve on it then the auctioneer should be Up Front about it and the bidding should start at the reserve price :ok:

Yep,but even the no-reserve auctions have the House 'Çockatoos' making sure it gets to a minimum sale price.Jungle out there.

My wife bought something on ebay that did not arrive.
She opened a dispute and the seller sent her a tracking number.
The tracking number did not work, so it looked like something dodgy.
My wife was refunded her PayPal payment and a couple of days later the package arrived.
Australia post had repacked the item after being followed up by the sender.
He had put the wrong street number on the address, and no return address, and the receiver had put it back in the post "not at this address".
He also made a mistake with the tracking number.
As the item arrived, my wife promptly contacted paypal and paid the money again (they seemed very surprised).
The seller was very pleased and sent another of the item as a thank you for her honesty.
Part way through this, everyone was feeling bad/ripped off, but it ended with everyone happy.

Good story Oz. Most people are honest but we're less likely to hear about it, and sadly, that's the way it is.
