Apart from the 200th anniversary of Australia's first dollar? None whatsoever. ;-)

The 2013 sets will contain all regular coins but with the 20c being gold plated in the proof and coloured in the unc set. So the dollar won't be a mule.

In which case Freightcar would be best flipping it asap & hope to get back his initial outlay.

I wish Proof sets and mint sets were always normal type coins no tricks

If it turns out to be a packaging error there is some prior history.  There's two packaging error proof sets listed in Macca's, listed at $500 and $400.  Those are for a 10c and 5c coin so it could be argued that yours is worth a bit more because it's a $1 coin.

I think it would also be worth more because for the first time this is a future dated coin. All of the previous error sets have contained a coin from the previous year. Having said that, I think the interest in this set will decline once the 2013 proof set has been released.

An interesting discusion that caused me to examine my set.   Alas all 2012 coins and in the high 21900 numbered issue.
