QuoteMarkn: There's just the two of us here and while a SSD or 7200 RPM drives would serve the files faster I don't think the (almost imperceptible) performance improvement would really be worth the extra cost or noise (for the 7200RPM drives). I can't hear the 5400 RPM drives btw and they are on the desk with me about 50cm away from me.

Ahhh, so you don't have 12TB's of media that the missus and kids stream to all parts of the house and beyond....

Like Fulvio says, its a balance thing.

I have more guitars than I can play, so I either spend on coins or computers...  Ahhh, your right... why am I wasting it on the computer!

I just don't like HDD noise on the desktop... I have 5 x SSDs in RAID5 array on my desk.
And your file server is exactly where you want fast disks as its function of file serving implies (thread did say nerdy!).

Very innovative!  I use QR codes in my work and never thought about them this way.  Thanks for sharing.

just looking on flea-bay, there seems to be a wide variety on prices between the different days... there is a single first day / green post mark on about to finish now and it is at $270 + $8 post!!!   Granted it is a low serial (28/7500) but it has me stumped...
maybe someone knows something about the mintage for that day?

QuoteGoldseeker: If you count the proofs and gold issues I will agree but if you go with the Copro-Nickle Unc coins only, your count is out and this issue would be the least number produced.

Yep, fair comment.

Thanks for the info Goldseeker, and interesting to hear how poorly the security / process was planned.

I count at least twenty two 50c coins produced by the RAM that have a smaller mintage (than 7,500 as this is the max mintage of the COIN - not the PNC).

Forty Six if you add the Perth Mint into the mix...

You might still be right about the price staying high tho'.

I have been watching and waiting for these to come off the boil (which I think they will, if only a modest amount - or at least I am hoping!)

Does anyone know how many were not sold for each of the days?

How many?  Well over 360!  I have just realised that my 50c database is a little out of date!  shame shame shame!

a favorite?  I can't possibly pick just one!!!

Wow, been away from this forum for a long time.... tooo long!  nice to be back!
Anyhows, yep I have one of those silver ones... and a few of those "regular" red ones... I have seen two of the silver ones come up for sale in the last 5 years (the first one I picked up, the second was well overpriced)
What I am missing is the folder sheet as seen in PNC Collector's first post above... anyone know where these can be found / purchased?  I am guessing that you would have to purchase a whole pack (and as you might assume, I am only after the pages that have the fiddy PNCs on it!)
