Quote from: 'Krash' pid='131212' dateline='1789083501'Made the base font larger.  I always use 120% zoom, have poor vision so it's difficult to judge how others see it.
The reason I asked Steve that was parts of this thread refers to being able to see this website on a phone. That's nearly impossible.

Is there any way to have the latest post in a thread here to be at the top? I looked everywhere and couldn't find a setting.

Quote from: 'Triggersmob' pid='131211' dateline='1789081500'Found it very hard to read. Had to blow the screen up to 150%. Otherwise looks OK.

Quote from: 'Krash' pid='131182' dateline='1788114855'Took a look at this forum on a tab last night while reading, was surprised to see this theme is not responsive.  Neither is the default theme in current 1.8.40 version.  When viewed on mobile device it doesn't reformat, it's just much smaller and difficult to see.  This will cost ACF potential members who access the forum with tablets or phones, and will cause the site to be downranked by search engines.  I'm more inclined now to converting to SMF.  Soon as I have time I'll clone the forum and try the conversion.  If it works you can all try it before we do anything to the production forum.

I asnswered a PM on my phone this morning and had that very problem. The entire login box 1/4" x 3/16" high.

The rest sounds like a plan. I was on the MYBB site and their community is definitely not moderated. I ask a question and it gives numerous results that are not even relevant to the question. SMF definitely has their ducks in a row.

From what I can figure out, the entire forum format is based off several HTML files controlled by a vast array of css style sheets. Very difficult to figure out and configure.

Quote from: 'Triggersmob' pid='131129' dateline='1787303886'Hopefully we can operate as sister sites. Members from here can join over at KOTCT to post their non-Australian coins. There is an Aussie section on KOTCT too though. In fact when KOTCT was first set up, it was a prerequisite that members had to own an Aussie coins. Any new member that didn't was promptly supplied one by Aussie members. With the new set up, there may be new link tabs on each site, to make it quicker to move across the the other site.

Everything you said in the quote is true! The part about the links is already completed. I've put a welcome banner up on every page to greet everyone from down under. We have never streamed ads. We could have but the site was never about being commercialized like the Coin Community. We did at one time have a thread that allowed members to post links to other coin sites. When the upgrade was complete that thread went away. There were only 3 posts with the most recent being 14 years old.

And by the way what is the opinion of the fresh coat of paint and the closets being organized here? Sir Krash has been busy and not one thing has been discarded. Except of course the WIKI link in the header that led nowhere. I hope it's to everyone's liking. Everyone and everything needs to get dressed up every now and again.

One more thing that I did was give credit for this site where it was due. Unless they change them, Mark and his wife's signatures reflect on every post they have ever made, that they are the Founder and Co-Founder's of this website.

Tell you friends to click the link at the top to come register and enjoy our Castle. Honestly...we don't bite!

Quote from: 'gweidion' pid='131179' dateline='1788084472'Silly question, but what happened to the background colour? It is a lot more blue now.

I put the answer to your question here in BLUE.

Quote from: 'Pedro' pid='131175' dateline='1788045446'A huge thank you to Mark and Kathryn for all the effort they have put into ACF over the years. It has been greatly appreciated.  :good: All the very best for the future.

Special thanks to TKO and Sir Krash for keeping ACF going  :yahoo:

Pedro

Yes,same sentiments from myself and Brother who pops in every so often.

Only change/suggestion i would add is for public to view all posts, pick up new members when they see something/topic they're interested in.

I'll talk to Krash and see if he thinks this would draw in too may spiders and web crawlers. athey can pose a real issue if we get too many. AI bots are non-stop nowadays.

Forum Announcements and Rules / Forum Migration

:yahoo: I'm pleased to announce the forum migration is complete! :yahoo:

The new host is Crocweb located in Montreal Canada. Their service gives this forum a less than 1% chance of downtime, High Security and all the space you will ever need for storage. Best of all they are very well versed in the MYBB software platform.

There is a forum version update available that fixes many issue in the programming. Most are small glitches but, there is one that is a MYBB security issue that needs addressed. This will be taken care of in the next few days.

I need all members to please report any issues to me that you may incur. There are NO immediate plans to change anything that you are currently familiar with. This entire move was with the intent of not changing anything other than where your forum lives.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and hope you find things satisfactory.

Cheers to all!

Quote from: 'Triggersmob' pid='131116' dateline='1787171876'Thank you Terry, and Sir Krash.

..and from me,best wishes to Mark as well, thanks for keeping the Forum active over the past decade + .

All the Oz. Coin Forums in the late 1990's,early 2000's crashed after a year or so or were absorbed into the Stamp section.

KOTCT will be celebrating our 19th anniversary in October!

Quote from: 'markn' pid='131106' dateline='1787005045'TKO-100, the admin from KOTCT has emailed me and offered to take over this forum.  We'll work through the logistics of doing so and keep you updated.  There will most likely be a few days where it's unavailable but hopefully it will be back on a new server!  I'll keep you updated.

Hi everyone! I'm Terry Olds and I administrate the KOTCT forum. I started our forum with Terry Adams (Twoshadows) and when he abandoned the site Barry Murray (Humpybong) and myself resurrected it.

I have spoken to markn about assuming custody of the ACF and he did agree. I just need access to his domain registrar to initiate the transfer of that. markn will be sending me the site downloads and image files download to place in your new home.

As KOTCT became more complicated, I knew I needed help and through shear luck I stumbled upon a SMF whiz. He goes by Krash and he has been a true savior to the site. During this change, he will be managing the bulk of "back door" processes because he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable in coding, processes and hosting.

I do and have been fortunate enough to engage with many of you. Rest assured, your forum will remain the same forum all of you are familiar with. You will log in same and at the same address in your browsers. Be patient with Mark as well, he has his hands full with his store.

Cheers to all my new mates!
